Barbican Cobbles and shrimp in Plymouth

Yet more cobbles - this time in the Barbican in Plymouth. I lay the camera on the floor and did a timed release - and once again I have several different results.

Its a bit squew wiff but I figured when I took it that I could align it up later but I never thought the photo was good enough so I didn't bother.

Heres another one taken the same day of that shrimp

Top of Bere Ferrers

This is a picture I took at the top of Bere Ferrers near the lay lane turn off in early January. You can see the tamar bridge in the distance below a bank of grey cloud.

I came around the corner in my car returning home from christmas up north and this unbeleiveable sight greeted me right away.

Unfortunately the bridge is not as clear as I would like it to be. I did take six shots of this but the light wasn't as good in the other shots albeit that some of them are clearer:

Dartmoor near Hounds Tor

This is quite a high resolution picture of Dartmoor I took last week when out for a recuperating walk with Sam. Storm came but T stayed at school!

I really like the light in these pictures - the sun was quite low in the sky (being November) and there was a fair bit of cloud around as well.

The green moss at the top of this tor is lovely and I like the way the granite sticks out of the ground like its floating on it.

Heres another picture from the same day - I love the light on those hills. I tried taking a load of shots the other way but they came out either over developed or under developed.

Eiffel tower picture with lamppost

Im quite proud of this picture but it took a whole load of shots to get it right which Ill post later.

In fact you could argue that some of the other shots are better. It was in fact quite a sunny day so Ive overexposed the sky but I needed to as the tower comes out very dark else and you cant see the intricate ironwork.

I like the green of the grass and the bench as well and imagine myself there again with a good book, my family buying ice creams and getting knackered climbing up all those steps cus S wont want to pay for the lift....

Cobbles at the Palace of Versailles

Actually thought I would post this as well:

This is in the courtyard of the Palace of Versailles when I visited there a couple of years ago with Sam, her dad and his wife. Toby came as well.

I got really into the cobbles for some reason and took several shots like this - I might post some more later on but I cant imageine there being much interest in the cobbles of Versailes!

Sod it heres another one:

Some great surf

Hi Ive started this blog with the idea that Im going to post an image from my collection each day and say something about it and why I took it.

Im going to start with this one. It shows almost perfect surfing conditions for North Cornwall with a huge low out to the atlantic generating monster waves and a small trough actually over the UK generating Northerlies.

THis created the image immediately below - which is double overheads in Crantock Bay in Cornwall:
